Pngr
Advanced Features

Data maintenance

Manage retention, compact history, and transfer workspace configuration.

Open Workspace…, or Settings → History → Apply & open data maintenance….

Retention and compaction

Set retention and graph aggregation, then choose Save workspace and preferences. This saves configuration and immediately removes samples older than retention. Automatic maintenance also runs at startup and every 30 minutes.

Compact database… compacts the SQLite history database and reports its before/after size. Database writes wait while compaction holds the storage lock, then resume. Compaction is not an export or backup.

Export configuration

Choose Export configuration… to write a workspace JSON file. It contains target definitions, groups, paused states, probe options, profiles, rules, summaries, preferences, and action configuration. Secret fields contain environment variable names only.

Configuration export does not include measurement history from tracescope.db. Use CSV export for measurement data, or close Pngr before making a file backup of its data directory.

Import configuration

Choose Import configuration… and select the JSON file. Pngr validates the configuration before applying it. Import replaces the workspace and restores its configured targets; it does not import a history database. Configuration imports are limited to 4 MiB and the supported configuration version.

Native notifications, SMTP, webhooks, and executable actions from the imported file are disabled. Review destinations and executable paths before re-enabling them in the action editor. Recheck source interfaces and addresses when moving configuration to another machine.

See General for the data directory and filenames.
