Probing profiles

Save and reuse protocol, port, source, and timing settings.

Profiles store a probe configuration: protocol, destination port, UDP options, network source, timing, hop limit, concurrency, live memory limit, and hostname resolution. They do not store alert rules, display preferences, or the target address.

Use the profile menus

Open Load Profile… to apply a saved profile to the new-target configuration or selected active target. A running target uses the new configuration on its next round. Historical targets cannot load profiles; choose an active target or New Target first.

Use Save Current Configuration…, enter a name, and save. Saving with the same name replaces that profile. Manage/Delete Profiles… removes saved profiles without changing active targets.

Use Settings

In Monitoring, choose the configuration scope before loading a profile. Loading changes only that scope. Enter a name and click Save, or choose a profile and click Delete. These changes are staged until Apply or OK; Cancel discards them.

Names must be nonempty and no longer than 80 characters. A workspace supports up to 100 profiles. Profiles persist locally with the workspace and travel with configuration exports.

Saved source addresses

A profile can refer to an interface or IP address that is unavailable on another machine or after a network change. Recheck Network source before using an imported profile.
