Pngr
Getting Started

macOS installation

Install the universal Pngr application from the DMG.

Install Pngr

  1. Open the Pngr releases page and choose the current stable release.
  2. Download Pngr-macos-universal.dmg.
  3. Open the DMG and drag Pngr to Applications.
  4. Open Pngr from Applications, then follow the quick start.

The universal launcher selects the native Apple Silicon or Intel runtime payload. No separate .NET installation is needed.

macOS security prompts

Current packages are unsigned and not notarized. They have ad-hoc integrity signatures. macOS may warn or block launch. Use the operating system's normal approval interface only if you trust the download. Pngr does not disable or bypass Gatekeeper.

Install in a writable location

Copy the app out of the DMG before using in-app updates. Automatic installation requires an app copied into a writable Applications folder. Running from a mounted DMG, an older portable ZIP, or a source checkout requires manual installer migration.

If an update reports that installation is unavailable, download the current DMG and replace the installed app using the normal installation process. See updating Pngr.

Your data

Installed builds keep history, settings, profiles, and workspace data in:

~/Library/Application Support/TraceScope

The retained TraceScope folder name and tracescope.db filename preserve compatibility with earlier versions. Updating the application preserves this separate directory.
